A letter to a sauna reviewer from the
owner of Relax Saunas of Momentum
There are many companies putting out scare tactics about EMF and reports of out-gassing chemicals in order to discredit the Relax far infrared sauna. The truth is that tests done on the Relax Sauna shows it to be very safe and to have one of the most powerful far infrared generators of any sauna. In the following letter, Phil Wilson addresses these concerns in a letter to a far infrared sauna reviewer.
Hello Matt,
I came across many of your webpages today, and I was impressed that you truly are unbiased. I read a little bit about your history, how you were introduced to Saunas after having your mercury amalgams taken out.
I had my mercury amalgams taken out in 1984. I got involved in fasting in 1971, and had a similar “wow” experience about my sinuses clearing. I started selling herbal mineral vitamin products part time in 1973, full time in 1976, and opened up a health food store and distributing company of unique holistic health products (green foods, algae products, Chinese herbal combinations, etc.) and massage tools to health food stores and health professionals in 1980 .
In 2002, I purchased a portable sauna from one of my massage tool distributors. I couldn’t believe I could have a portable sauna in my home. I used it for a year, and totally loved it. Then I received a phone call from the Relax Sauna company in Taiwan. They told me theirs was more effective. I agreed to purchase it. It came in 2 days. Everyone at my store and office was very much impressed. So we started marketing this sauna, instead of the other one. In the first year, we sold 24 Relax Saunas (compared to 6 of the Hot House sauna we had sold the previous year — Big time marketing? eh ? ) …
At any rate. We have pretty much put the Relax Sauna on the map. There are over 700 video testimonials we have on YouTube – I was the one doing all of the interviews. We have a following of thousands of health professionals, many whom sell the Relax Saunas to their patients. And they pretty much have excellent results.
Since the Relax Sauna uses the tent as a mirror to reflect the Far Infrared Light, we only have electricity by the feet. Our EMF report, done by an independent lab, gave us readings of 46 on top of our radiators, 24 in front of them, 5 on the floor in the middle our two radiators. The EMF readings by the neck was about .5, on the chair in the middle, about 1.5, and on the chair closer to the radiators 2.5. We advertise our sauna as a low-emf sauna, since the vital organs of the body all are in the presence of Way less than 3 milligauss.
However, we focus our advertising and our communications about the Relax Sauna on our advanced technology that gives a much Greater percentage of absorbably Far Infrared Energy than other saunas. I believe that the Relax Sauna generates (we also use 1500 watts) far more far infrared energy than any other infrared sauna. We also get results that other saunas do not appear to get. We focus on the positive far infrared Energy that our patented semi-conductor chips generate, since only Far Infrared Energy pulsates the water molecules. There, as you know, is much research on the benefits of Far infrared energy. The book, Detoxify or Die, by Dr. Sherry Rogers is a testament to the benefits of Far infrared Saunas. This was written in about 2001, and EMF did not appear to be a problem then. We did not have cell phones then, or wi-fi, or smart meters.
Dr. Bill Akpinar, chi gong master, and author of the book “No Sweat!, No Sweat ?”, calls the Relax Sauna the “Chi Gong Sauna.”
I have become friends with and have spoken to many “EMF home consultants” at conferences about EMF, and the Relax Sauna, and have my concerns. We can talk later about this. I know that massage tools, massage chairs, juicers, blenders, and most household appliances have much greater EMF than the Relax Sauna generators. We even have some of our interviews with individuals very sensitive to EMF , who can feel them EMF at the feet, but also have experienced that energy totally dissipating, and having no negative effects. So they only experience the wonderful effects of the Relax Sauna energy. This sort of validates the research in Japan that indicates that Far infrared Energy antidotes not only EMF, but also Nuclear Energy, and Sunburn. (We also have a couple videos of people with sunburn paid of 6 or more totally getting rid of their pain after being in the Relax Sauna for only 5-7 minutes.)
We know of one doctor who had been selling another portable sauna, supposedly much more effective than the $200 saunas, who sent the sauna to an independent lab, and discovered that they had pretty much the same amount of Far infrared energy as the cheaper saunas. He was rather upset, and quit selling that sauna.
I would recommend testing the Far Infrared Input from Saunas as a Positive, in addition to what you are doing in measuring the negative aspects of the materials used (glue, plastics, emf, etc.)
